Abstract: Cis paper presents the transformation of the imputation model that takes place in the Spanish context at the end of the nineteenth century and at the beginning of the twentieth. More specifically, the aim is to show how the moral problem of responsibility was understood more and more in terms of a psychometric problem; this is to say, the problem of responsibility is displaced from an ethical-legal sphere into a psychological one. Cis answers to the scientific ideal of objectification and technification. In terms of the psychologist Anastasio Anselmo González –whose studies are analyzed in this article, as well as Quintiliano Saldaña or Pedro Dorado Montero’s studies–, «quantitative Psychology» offers the most suitable tools to «enter».
