Abstract: In recent decades, Chile has carried out a series of reforms and laws focused on evaluating teachers' performance and accountability. One of the main features of all these laws, in line with the New Public Management guidelines, is the recurrent use of instruments that concretize and perform the practical and daily content of these laws. The purpose of the following article is to reflect critically on the scope and effects of these instruments on the daily and pedagogical work of teachers, with the consequent pedagogy that is configured and the perspectives that remain outside the horizon of possibilities for action.
