Usar la traducción como herramienta feminista y decolonial: Un estudio de Esta Puente, Mi Espalda: Voces de Mujeres Tercermundistas en los Estados Unidos

Abstract

En este trabajo se examina el papel de la traducción como herramienta feminista al abordar la obra Esta Puente, Mi Espalda: Voces De Mujeres Tercermundistas En Los Estados Unidos. La obra, escrita por Gloria Anzaldúa y Cherríe Moraga, presenta las experiencias y voces de mujeres tercermundistas en los Estados Unidos. La investigación se centra en analizar cómo la traducción no solo transmite el significado lingüístico, sino también las complejidades culturales y feministas presentes en el texto original. Se explora cómo las traductoras enfrentan los desafíos de representar fielmente la diversidad de perspectivas feministas y experiencias de las mujeres descritas en la obra. Además, se examinan las decisiones de traducción que afectan la visibilidad y la autenticidad de las voces feministas en la versión traducida. Este estudio contribuye a la comprensión de cómo la traducción puede ser una herramienta poderosa para amplificar las voces feministas en contextos multiculturales, destacando la importancia de abordar la interseccionalidad y la diversidad en el proceso de traducción mediante el uso de diferentes estrategias feministas.

This study examines the role of translation as a feminist tool by addressing the work This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Colour The book, written by Gloria Anzaldúa and Cherríe Moraga, presents the experiences and voices of Third World women in the United States. The research focuses on analysing how translation not only conveys linguistic meaning, but also the cultural and feminist complexities inherent in the original text. It explores how translators face the challenges of faithfully representing the diversity of feminist perspectives and women's experiences described in the work. In addition, translation decisions that affect the visibility and authenticity of feminist voices in the translated version are examined. This study contributes to the understanding of how translation can be a powerful tool for amplifying feminist voices in multicultural contexts, highlighting the importance of addressing intersectionality and diversity in the translation process by using different feminist strategies.
