Abstract: This course aims to overview of what the Internet is, how it is structured and what offers to final users. For this reason the course will begin exploring technological aspects related to computers structure, the Internet and its applications. It will continue analyzing how Internet security affects and how it has to be considered. Next, we will see what the World Wide Web is and how we can use it to share information. Finally, we will take a look at the open source and free software, within free culture, two communities closely linked to the birth of the Internet and its generalization.
