Title: Traducció i anàlisi traductològica d’un fragment de la novel·la Els àngels em miren, de Marc Pastor
Author: Garrit Salvatella, Núria
Tutor: Borrell Carreras, Helena
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present a reverse translation proposal, from Catalan to English, of two chapters from the novel Els àngels em miren, by Marc Pastor. This book belongs to the hardboiled fiction genre, but the author also introduced elements of fantasy and horror. In order to be able to carry out the translation, a preliminary study has been carried out on the hardboiled genre and its main characteristics, on literary translations and particularly reverse translations, and on how to deal with the translation of cultural references from a lesser-known culture to a more hegemonic one. In addition, as the book contains a lot of police terminology, a comparison between different police forces with the Mossos d'Esquadra has also been performed. Once the methodological basis was set, the translation could be tackled using the most appropriate translation strategies for each case.
