Title: La qualitat de vida escolar de l'alumnat amb TEA i discapacitat severa segons el tipus d'escolarització: Estudi comparatiu de cas entre les modalitats educatives que ofereix la comunitat autònoma de Catalunya

Abstract: In recent years, the educational response to students with autism has moved towards more inclusive alternatives. However, the grouping under the term "ASD" of all the heterogeneity that includes the disorder has left students with severe manifestations outside most of the research. This study aims to compare the educational modalities offered to these students in Catalonia (Spain) in order to identify and analyse the factors that contribute to the improvement of their quality of school life. To this end, a multiple case study has been conducted based on nonparticipant observation and interviews with teachers and families of students with nonverbal autism spectrum disorder (level 3) and comorbid intellectual disability. The results point to differences between the models of ordinary schools and the special education centre in terms of the support and resources they offer, as well as the methodological strategies used.
