Abstract: Due to the lack of translation studies focused on social sciences texts, namely about economic research, this bachelor’s Final Dissertation aims to apply highly specialized texts translation techniques to them. For this purpose I chose a text extracted from a paper written by the she-economist Esther Duflo. This text is then theoretically framed to define and characterize it as a highly specialized one. Another theoretical frame is later made to establish why this text conveys the principles of new feminist translation theories. Traditional and feminist translation techniques are jointly applied to establish a new canon with women as participative agent for the analysis and active subject as author and translator. Illustrative examples verify how the hybridization of traditional translation conventions together with gender perspective can generate a translated text completely equivalent to the original, which leaves the door open to further explore this avenue in future studies on social sciences translation.
