Abstract: | Free commentary is a form of audiovisual translation similar to voice-over that moves away from the source text to create a new text adapted to the target audience, usually in a humorous tone. In this case, it is a form of translation based, not on the source text, but rather on the free interpretation of the referents of the images and the visual language of another culture. As a result of the civil rights movements, the relationship between discrimination and language, including humor, began to be studied. This dissertation performs a comparative analysis of the discrimination (racialization, gender discrimination, and other types of discrimination) detected in the Spanish free commentary of the Japanese contest Fūun! Takeshi Jō based on examples found in one episode of each of the three editions that have existed: Humor amarillo (Telecinco, 1990-1995), Humor amarillo (Cuatro, 2006-2007), and El castillo de Takeshi (Amazon, 2023-). |
