Abstract: The study examines the relationship between higher education and the creative industries, focusing on how university communication and design students understand the values and the nature of creative work. Based on an open questionnaire, answered by 273 communication and design students, we carry out a thematic analysis that allows us to address their perceptions about creativity, expectations regarding creative work and concerns about working conditions in the field. We discuss the intersec- tion between higher education and creative industries, with the goal of enhancing the training of future creative professionals.
