Abstract: Phonological awareness, understood as the ability to consciously analyze and synthesize the sound segments of the language, has been recognized in the last decades as the best predictor of reader learning. This ability, whose development starts early in the preschool age, allows the manipulation of increasingly thin sonic segments until reaching the phoneme. The following paper describes a study on the training of phonological awareness in game form to a 7 year old boy with the aim of reducing difficulties in reading. The training is based on 6 sessions focused on lexical awareness, syllabic awareness and phonological awareness, and effective results have been obtained, affecting a decrease in phonemic substitutions and an improvement in reading fluency.
