Title: Traducción y análisis traductológico del cuento "Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie", de Beryl Bainbridge
Author: Duran Julià, Catalina

Abstract: The following work is developed from the short story Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie, a black comedy written by British author Beryl Bainbridge, and published in 1985. With the aim of bringing the writer closer to readers, her biography and part of her work are explored in the first sections. The next section consists of an analysis of the original text, in which stylistic devices such as irony, black humour, metaphor and intertextuality are found. Then, the work presents its two main points: a translation proposal into Spanish of the short story and its corresponding translation analysis, in which I describe the most significant problems arisen from reading the ST and its subsequent translation, as well as the decisions and strategies adopted to solve them. Likewise, this study constitutes a modest contribution to the scarce existing literature on the author and her work.
