Author: Bermejo Rodríguez, Virginia
Tutor: Castro Huercano, Carolina
Abstract: The global COVID-19 pandemic has directed teaching towards the online modality, a situation that has implied the search for alternatives to offer this teaching model. The present study, focused as a teaching innovation project, aims to demonstrate the usefulness of the Nearpod tool when teaching online classes within the Schoology platform and together with the Brainpop tool. At the same time, through the interactive activities created with this program, it is intended to promote the active learning of students. The results of the research carried out in a 4th grade class, on a total of 24 students of the science subject, show that students enjoy the sessions with this tool, which on many occasions they have come to consider as a game, thus stimulating their interest and motivation. Consequently, the students learn the theoretical concepts and achieve the set learning objectives. Ultimately, the suitability and effectiveness of this program has been demonstrated. In addition, above all it has been seen that academic results have improved since the incorporation of these tools and the performance and motivation of the students has been increased.
